Andrea Torres bids farewell to character Sisa: 'Maraming salamat sa karangalan'

Sisa made her final appearance on Friday’s episode of “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” and Andrea Torres made sure to pay tribute to the character and the show’s supporters.

“Sisa, maraming salamat sa karangalan na maisabuhay ang kwento mo,” the Kapuso actress said on Twitter.

“At maraming salamat sa inyong lahat at pinapasok niyo kami sa inyong mga puso,” she added. “Isa ito sa mga role na di ko kailanman mabibitawan at haaaay, hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala sa biyayang ito.”

Throughout the show so far, Andrea has been receiving some much-deserved praise for portraying the iconic character from “Noli Me Tangere,” and for effectively showcasing a mother’s pain.

Andrea as Sisa has also been the subject of numerous fan art, and the actress teared up when she met the artist who painted her scenes.

One of the major plot points of #MCIPaalam was Sisa reuniting with Basilio but no longer recognizing him after losing her sanity. The episode also featured Sisa’s tragic death.
