Dennis Trillo serves acting masterclass with fiery speech in 'Maria Clara at Ibarra'
Dennis Trillo continues to prove that he is one of the very best actors of his generation in the latest episode of "Maria Clara at Ibarra" on Friday.
The Kapuso Drama King, who plays Crisostomo Ibarra from "Noli Me Tangere," delivered a fiery speech before the San Diego residents attending the Misa De Gallo.
The scene was not in the novel, but viewers could not help but get the goosebumps as Dennis went to work during his monologue.
Ibarra then implored the townspeople to heed his words.
"Damayan ninyo ako, dinggin n'yo kaming sambayanan, dinggin n'yo kami na mga ninakawan ng kapangyarihan," he said.
Ibarra watched in tears as the people then started to stand up and raise their voices one by one, chanting "Dinggin n'yo kami."
Viewers were wowed by the powerful scene, and the episode's hashtag #MCIDingginNiyoKami remained among the top Philippine trends on Twitter as of Saturday afternoon.
"Dennis Trillo delivers way beyond expectations. Hard to top this performance. Hats off to you, our Crisostomo Ibarra! Napatayo, napapalakpak, naluha. Parang sasabog puso ko," said one Twitter user.
"What an epic, intense and emotional monologue perfectly delivered by #DennisTrillo," said another.
According to Dennis, "Maria Clara at Ibarra" will soon transition into Noli's sequel, "El Filibusterismo."
The hit historical portal fantasy series airs on GMA Telebabad weekdays after "24 Oras." Episodes are also livestreamed at GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
