Glaiza De Castro reacts to Lady Gagita's impersonation of Pirena on 'Drag Den'

Pirena from the GMA fantaserye “Encantadia” is the latest iconic character to be given the drag queen treatment!

In the latest episode of “Drag Den Philippines,” the queens were tasked to strut it out in theme wear that embodies characters from Filipino fantasies.

And contestant Lady Gagita gave it her all as the fiery Pirena!

The queen slayed her red outfit by Jay Cayabyab, which was completed with a sword and lighter to represent the Sang’gre.

Glaiza De Castro, who played Pirena in the 2016 “Encantadia” remake, could not hide her excitement on Twitter.

“OMGGGGGGG WHATTTT,” the Kapuso actress said with lots of fire emojis.

This episode of “Drag Den” is a tribute to the fantasy series, according to director Rod Singh, who said, “Bukod sa binuo ng [‘Encantadia'] ang kabaklaan ko, ito din ang kauna-unahang TV show na naging part ako ng creatives as a brainstormer.”

Aside from Pirena, drag queen Naia impersonated Ryza Cenon’s character in “Ika-6 na Utos” in a previous episode.

“Drag Den Philippines” airs every Thursday exclusively on Prime Video.
