What's the secret to the FiLay hype? Barbie Forteza says it's David Licauco's K-drama aura

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" fans keep gushing over the FiLay tandem of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco, who play non-Noli characters Fidel and Klay in the series.

Viewers can't get enough of their chemistry during their barda moments and just can't help but ship them despite their clashing personalities.

Asked about the secret to the FiLay hype, Barbie said it's probably because of David's oppa-like charm.

"Click 'yung FiLay kasi si David meron siyang aura na very ano, K-Drama," she said in Cata Tibayan's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Saturday.

"'Yung hitsura niya di ba, 'yung beauty niya, parang Korean actor," she added.

Indeed, David has been capturing hearts left and right despite his character being labeled as the "Sinaunang Red Flag" by fans.

The Sparkle star said he has been overwhelmed by his newfound popularity due to the series, with more fans asking to take photos with him in public.

David, however, is very much game to provide fan service with a staring challenge and pa-cute videos on TikTok.
