Eraserheads ‘into deep discussion’ to go on a world tour next year
It looks like it’s not going to be the final reunion after all.
Previously, concert promoters announced the upcoming Eraserheads reunion concert titled Huling El Bimbo will be the final reunion of the band in the Philippines — operative phrase "in the Philippines."
Because according to concert producer and WEU President Francis Lumen, there are plans for more.
Given that the Eraserheads are a world-class talent, talks are in place to showcase their skills and artistry on the international stage.
“Actually, we are into deep discussion and a world tour is one thing that’s going to happen after this year. It will be next year,” Lumen told reporters at the recently held press conference of the upcoming show.
“It's something that we are so proud of and of course, we want to showcase the Filipino talents,” the concert producer added.
Saying that Eheads is a legendary band, Lumen said that a lot of Filipinos abroad can relate to them.
“It will be nostalgic for them to see [the Eheads] and it will be a way to show Filipino pride,” he said.
“And yes, a world tour is gonna happen.”
Lumen also teased that a documentary that chronicles the making of the Huling El Bimbo reunion concert is in the works, with plans on showing it in SM Cinemas, Cignal, Smart GigaPlay, Amazon, and Netflix.
“There's a lot of byproducts of this event and it is to showcase the creativity and the Filipino talent around the world,” he said.
To be held on December 22 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City, the highly anticipated show will also feature a hologram of Francis M. and a full orchestra—even the Eraserheads are excited. — LA, GMA Integrated News
