GMA-7 Hollywood correspondent Janet Nepales receives award from Californian press club
GMA-7's Hollywood correspondent Janet Nepales was hailed as the 2022 Outstanding Entertainment Journalist by the Filipino American Press Club of California (FAPCCA) during its 2nd Media Awards.
She received the award from Los Angeles Consul General Edgar Badajos.
Nepales, who writes the weekly column Hollywood Insider for GMA News Online, is based in Los Angeles. She is a journalism alumna of the University of Santo Tomas and graduated cum laude.
Nepales came out with her first limited edition hardbound coffee table book, "FASHION. Filipino. Hollywood. The World," which was a finalist in the recently held 2022 15th Annual National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards (NAEJ) of the Los Angeles Press Club. The paperback edition is now available on Amazon.com.
Nepales, the first Filipina member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that presents the Golden Globe Awards, was recognized by the Filipina Women's Network (FWN) as one of the "100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the US" in 2012 and as one of the "100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World" in 2013.
She is a co-author of the first FWN book entitled "DISRUPT: Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt."
She is married to journalist-author Ruben V. Nepales with whom she has two daughters—Bianca Nicole and Rafaella Angelica.
