Herlene Budol on taping for 'Magandang Dilag:' 'Nahihiya ako baka ang baho ng hininga ko'

Now that the Miss Planet International ordeal is behind her, Herlene Budol is once again focusing on her showbiz career.

In an episode of the "Updated with Nelson Canlas" podcast, the beauty queen talked about her latest project with GMA Network, "Magandang Dilag."

According to the Kapuso actress, it humbles her to be alongside veteran actors for the upcoming new show, but it also makes her conscious around them, especially with scenes that require close contact.

"Nahihiya ako baka ang baho ng hininga ko," Herlene told Nelson. "Nahihiya talaga ako. Kahit nag-toothbrush ako, naka-ilang bubble gum ako, naka-ilang spray ako sa bunganga ko noon, parang, hala, nakakahiya."

Nevertheless, Herlene expressed how "Magandang Dilag" is such a huge opportunity for her.

"Sobrang [masaya ako na] pinagkatiwalaan po nila ako para makasama po 'yung mga ganung artista na talagang kahit sino sa kanila magpapasampal ako doon eh," she said with a laugh.

Nelson then asked the actress what it was like working with some of her fellow co-stars, including Benjamin Alves and Rob Gomez.

"Sobrang galing nila," she said. "Parang [sa] backstage [pa lang,] parang in character na sila."

"Parang dapat pala ganun din ako," she added.

Herlene will headline "Magandang Dilag" and will be joined in the cast by Benjamin, Rob, Maxine Medina, Bianca Manalo, and Angela Alarcon, among others.

Herlene finished as the first runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2022, with seven special awards to her name.
