Small Laude discusses the artista life ahead of ‘Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters’ appearance
We’re used to seeing Small Laude on YouTube and in our Instagram feeds, but tonight, the socialite and rising YouTube star is set to grace our TV screens with a guest appearance on “Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters.”
Small plays herself, a popular vlogger and businesswoman, to whom Violet (Beauty Gonzalez) turns to for help about marketing her own business.
According to Small, she's always wanted to be an artista. In fact, in a virtual press conference on Tuesday, the online personality shared how she reached out to the late German Moreno for a possible job on “That’s Entertainment!”
“I did not audition for that. I just [sent] my biodata. I don’t know if it reached Kuya Germs or not,” Small said.
However, she said having this new showbiz experience happened at the right time.
“[Before], my god, I was young. I was so like, very energetic, bubbly and gusto ko,” she said, “And then nag-golden years ako, [at] 50-plus, then I got it di ba. It's very rare, hindi nangyayari yun [when] you're 50-plus saka ka nag-bloom sa career mo.”
According to Small, the artista life, while enjoyable, is pretty darn challenging.
“Honestly, nag-enjoy ako sa company ni [Beauty] and ni Aiko [Melendez]," she shares. "Pero, medyo mahirap pag mga nag-te-take and pag nag-me-memorize. Nako, hindi ko na kayang mag-memorize.”
She added that Beauty and Aiko would guide her during taping and that the two were “really, really nice and mabait. So easy to work with. Nako, walang hang-ups. Ang bait-bait. And very magaan maging ka-eksena.”
Small added the role is easy since she plays herself and did not need to do any character studies.
Asked by the media whether she will be seen in more shows and movies soon, the vlogger laughed, “My gosh, I think yung mga movies or mga continuous [series] baka no, kasi ang hirap umarte, ang hirap mag-memorize.”
“I’m not sure about it, but syempre fun pa rin yan if I do,” she added.
“Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters” airs weekdays at 9:35 PM on GMA Primetime, also starring Thea Tolentino and Angel Guardian. — LA, GMA Integrated News
