Taeyeon of Girls' Generation tests positive for COVID-19

Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to a statement from SM Entertainment, the K-pop artist experienced suffered from symptoms.

“She received a positive result on the self-test kit she administered after feeling symptoms of poor condition from the previous day, so this morning, she took a rapid antigen test,” it said.

The company said Taeyeon has already halted all scheduled activities and is currently in quarantine. It added that they will continue following safety protocols.

“With our artist’s health and safety being priority, we will do everything we can so she can focus on treatment and recovery,” it added.

Girls’ Generation recently dropped their comeback album “FOREVER 1.” As a solo artist, meanwhile, Taeyeon is known for hits including “INVU,” “Fine,” and “Weekend.” —Franchesca Viernes/JCB, GMA Integrated News
