Ice Seguerra credits wife Liza Diño for 35th anniversary show: 'Becoming Ice was her brainchild'

Ice Seguerra just pulled off a very successful major concert celebrating his 35th anniversary in the entertainment industry, and he credited it all to his wife, Liza Diño.

Two days after his successful "Becoming Ice" concert at Solaire, the "Pagdating Ng Panahon" hitmaker took to Instagram to thank his wife for being his "inspiration, biggest critic, and number 1 fan" not just during his show, but for life.

According to Ice, Liza initially suggested he do a concert for his 35th year in the industry earlier this year.

“Medyo hesitant ako kasi alam kong ibang klaseng stress ang kailangan pagdaanan para sa isang solo major concert,” Ice wrote. “Buti na lang, nakinig ako.”

Giving credit to his wife for the idea of such an impeccable show, the singer-director said that "Becoming Ice" wouldn't be the way it was if it wasn't for Liza.

"'Becoming Ice' was her brainchild. From the title, to how it should be presented, 'yung flow from childhood to now and how it seamlessly transitioned from one chapter to the next," he said.

“Siya rin ang nagpasayaw sa akin, nagpaiyak at nagpabirit sa akin. She wanted people to see what I can do, things I don't normally perform during gigs. In short, sobrang chinallenge niya ako at gusto niya akong hingalin ng todo-todo,” Ice added with a written laugh in the end.

Not only did Liza conceptualize the event, but she also worked tirelessly with the video edits, getting sponsorships, and promoting the show on social media and press people.

“On top of all that, nagawa pa niyang magluto ng hipon tsaka adobo para sa aming lahat, bago humarap sa mga tao sa box office. Hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa rin alam kung paano niya nagagawa yung mga yun,” Ice continued, admiring his wife.

With just two months of preparation, Ice said that he honestly thought it wasn't possible to produce such a show.

"But with someone like her on top of things, nothing is impossible," he said.

He concluded his lengthy post with a heartfelt thank-you note to Liza.

"Being with you not only helped me elevate my artistry, but you also made me understand the importance of collaboration and respecting other people's work," he wrote.

"Thank you for also putting structure to my chaos. For understanding the thoughts I cannot articulate and hearing the words I cannot even say. Thank you for being my inspiration, my biggest critic, and my number 1 fan," he ended.

During the concert, Ice shared an emotional moment with his "Tito Vic" during a singing number of "Somewhere Out There."

Congratulations on a successful show and your 35th anniversary as an entertainer, Ice! — LA, GMA News
