Maxene Magalona releases stripped-down cover of FrancisM’s ‘Kaleidoscope World’

Maxene Magalona released her own version of one of her dad Francis M’s hit songs, “Kaleidoscope World” in time for #WorldMentalHealthDay.

Maxene recorded the heartfelt, stripped-down cover on October 4, what would have been Francis M's 58th birthday.

Maxene’s music video also featured clips from the original “Kaleidoscope World” MV—in which a young Maxene also appeared—as well as soundbites of the Master Rapper talking.

In the video’s description, the actress said she wanted to highlight the powerful and timeless message of the '90s song.

“I thought of creating this version together with some of my artist friends as a gentle reminder that we are all connected to each other in love, peace and harmony,” Maxene said.

“I truly believe that God wants all of us to experience this kind of colorful and vibrant energy while we are here on earth,” she added.

The mental health advocate ended by writing, “We are not just here to survive. We are here to thrive and feel all the way alive.”

“Happy #WorldMentalHealthDay, everyone. Please go check up on your friends today,” she said.

In a separate Instagram post, Maxene made sure to thank “this group of amazing artists who helped me bring this dream project to life.”

She added, “To hold space for each other and be able to create and express ourselves freely as artists is the kind of energy our environment would have if we were living in peace and harmony. No competition, division and hatred. Just teamwork, unity and love. This is the Kaleidoscope World.”
