Indie film 'Broken Blooms' bags 14 recognitions, awards in international festivals
Independent film "Broken Blooms" continue to make waves in international film festivals this year.
According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras Weekend," Saturday, the film has now bagged 14 international recognitions and awards.
Recently, "Broken Blooms" was recognized at the Brasilia International Film Awards.
"Nakakataba po ng puso na malaman na malaman na naka 14 na international awards na po ang broken blooms. taos puso nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nagrecognize sa amin," said lead actor Jeric Gonzales.
Directed by Louie Ignacio, "Broken Blooms" reflects the difficulties faced by several Filipino families.
Aside from Jeric, it also stars Therese Malvar, Jaclyn Jose, Lou Veloso, Royce Cabrera, and comedian Boobay, who showed a different side in the role.
"Binigay ko 'yung buong puso ko talaga para sa character na 'yun na lumayo sa the usual Boobay na nakikita ng ating mga minamahal na Kapuso," he said.
"Broken Blooms" is set to join more international film festivals this year. It will also have a local screening.
