Alden Richards reveals he first saw ‘Start-Up PH’ takes in series' official trailer

Asia’s Multimedia Star and “Start-Up PH” lead actor Alden Richards revealed that he was only able to watch their scenes in the official trailer of the series.

During the mediacon and special screening of the series on Saturday, Alden said he did not watch any playback or takes from their scenes while they were taping for “Start-Up PH.”

“Hindi po ako nakakanood ng playbacks, ng takes, ng mga scenes namin. ‘Yung trailer lang talaga ‘yung unang beses kong napanood ‘yung mga nakunang eksena.”

Asked if his expectations were met when he saw the trailer, Alden said he was proud of the result.

“We really can say that we have a show, we have something that we can be very proud of.

“Ganoon naman po talaga eh, hindi naman natin masisisi ‘yung mga fans ng K-drama version, sobrang minahal nila ‘yung show, sobrang minahal nila ‘yung Korean version ng Start-Up," he added.

"So sa kanila, syempre to protect their love for the show, gusto rin nilang makita na ‘yung Filipino version ng Start-Up is something worth their while. And kahit papaano, base sa trailer na napanood natin, may laban po ‘yung show.”

Alden thanked the directors, creatives, cast, and the production for doing their best to make the Filipino adaptation just as good, perhaps even better than the original K-drama.

"Of course, there’s always a challenge doing adaptations. Kasi when you say adaptation, meron na po tayong laging tinitingnan na benchmark diyan. The goal is either to be at par or higitan ‘yung benchmark. And I’d like to believe that our show, Star-Up PH, went beyond the actual. Sobrang saya po namin na finally, mapapanood na ito ng buong Pilipinas, ng buong mundo."

“Start-Up PH” released its 6-minute official trailer on Friday, giving a glimpse of some key moments that were recreated from the K-drama.

The Philippine adaptation is premiering in GMA on September 26, 2022 at 8:50 p.m. — DVM, GMA News
