Derrick Monasterio and Elle Villanueva are true professionals when doing sexy scenes in 'Return to Paradise'

Derrick Monasterio and Elle Villanueva have no problem doing the sexy scenes in "Return to Paradise."

As actors, the lead stars say that they only focus on their characters' thoughts and emotions during the shoot. 

"Kami kasi ni Elle when we do sexy scenes, we don't think of what we're gonna look like e, [we think of] the emotion and the journey of the character," the Kapuso hunk said on their guesting on the "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel" podcast.

"'Yun ang pinaka importante for us e, kung ano 'yung ma-fi-feel namin as Red and [Eden] habang ginagawa namin 'yung scene."

Derrick added that they don't really think about the technicalities of the scene.

"Hindi namin naiisip na kailangan ganito ang angle ng face, kailangan ganito 'yung ano para mas mukha siyang sexy. Kung ano 'yung nafi-feel namin deep inside, nilalabas lang namin sa isa't isa," he said.

Elle also clarified that her role is not a sexy one.

"She's not sexy, I mean [not] in a way na dapat seductive," she said. "Wholesome pa rin 'yung character ko, so medyo nababalanse [doing the scenes in a sexy manner but for daytime TV] siguro dahil din doon."

"Hindi siya like todo bigay but there's these steamy scenes na ginawa namin sa isla at gagawin pa."

In preparation for doing these steamy scenes, Derrick and Elle have a fun ritual which also builds their teamwork.

"Parang mag-e-eksena kami na mabigat, parang nag high-five kami nun, tas parang ang cute lang nung nakita namin," Elle said.

The afternoon serye follows Eden and Red, college students who are stranded on an island after a plane crash. As they live in the wild, they fall in love with each other, but then find out that their parents' fights will affect their relationship.

"Return to Paradise" airs Mondays to Fridays on GMA Afternoon Prime.
