Ready for some tea?

There's no doubt that showbiz reporters know more about celebrities compared to the average person. They see how the stars act behind the camera and have more access, giving them all sorts of chika.

In an episode of "Updated with Nelson Canlas," he, Lhar Santiago and Aubrey Carampel were ever so generous to share some juicy bits they've caught while on the job.

Here are some of them.

1. Generous colleague: An actor who gives shoes to handsome co-actors

Tito Lhar said this actor already made a name in the industry, describing him as "may pangalan."

No reason for giving out shoes was disclosed, but Tito Lhar said they only share it to handsome men—an answer to why Aubrey probably didn't receive one.

"Wish ko lang mabigyan din ako ng sapatos nung aktor," Aubrey joked in the podcast. "Beke nemen."

2. Sinetch itey: An actress did not pay for hotel expenses after lock-in taping

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, stars have been staying in hotels and resorts during their lock-in taping. In one instance, an actress decided to extend with her boyfriend even after shooting.

"'Yong production, binayaran na 'yung hotel na tinuluyan nila, sinettle na lahat ng mga accounts. After three days, tumatawag ang hotel sa executive producer, naniningil," Tito Lhar said.

"'Yung lead actress ay nag-extend kasama ang boyfriend at hindi nagbayad, kasi nagkaro'n pa ng two days, tumira pa nang two days sa hotel. Hindi nagbayad," he added.

3. Cynthia?! Actress, reporter took home items from hotels

According to Nelson, an actress once took home items from their lock-in hotel, which ended up chasing production to settle the fees.

Meanwhile, Tito Lhar added there was also a reporter who stole stuff from a five-star hotel, where a press conference was held.

"Ang ganda ng mga kubyertos, mga kung anu-ano," he said. "Mayroong isang reporter, ninakaw 'yung mga kubyertos. May dala siyang payong, inilagay niya do'n sa payong."

"After ng event, e di uwian na. Noong pauwi na sila, umulan. Binuksan niya 'yung payong, naglaglagan 'yung mga kubyertos," he added.

4. Cinderella?! Actress finds someone's slipper in boyfriend's home

Nelson said this couple decided to "cool off" as the girl thought that her boyfriend's co-star is flirting with him. She then caught them in his home.

"Paanong nahuli? Binisita niya sa bahay nung lalaki, nakita niya 'yung tsinelas nung co-star. Tinanong niya, 'Bakit nandito 'yung tsinelas ni girl?' Sabi niya, 'Nandito 'yan kasi nag-Bible study kami.'"

According to Nelson, the actress went overseas and was immediately followed by the actor.

5. Spotted: Actress was caught going out of actor's hotel room

During lock-in taping, Tito Lhar revealed there was an actress who was caught going out of an actor's hotel room.

Giving her the benefit of the doubt, the showbiz reporters said the actors may have just practiced one of their scenes together.

"Nag-rehearse ng eksena eh 'yong eksena (ay) love scene. Ang pogi kasi ni guy, no?" Nelson joked.

6. Da Who: Actor was asked to deliver lines while seated after not being able to do gestures properly

One actor had difficulty doing the appropriate actions while delivering his lines, so the director ran out of patience with him.

"Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi niya makuha-kuha yung movement kasabay ng pagsasalita. Sa galit ni Direk, 'maupo ka na lang. I-deliver mo 'yung dialogue mo habang nakaupo,'" Tito Lhar narrated.

Earning celebrities, people's trust

Though they know about celebrities' behind-the-scenes happenings, showbiz reporters still ensure to keep their journalism ethics intact when reporting.

"Binabalita po namin kung ano 'yung nangyayari. Hindi po ako tsismosa, hindi po ako magbibigay ng unverified na balita," Lhar said.

"These are people that the public knows kaya kailangan maingat ka, kailangan alam mo kung paano mo isusulat," he added.

Of course, this also includes staying true to their subjects—the actors. On most days, they are also friends with them and enjoy they trust.

"'Yung ibang artista, akala 'pag mga reporter, maninira sa kanila. Hindi," Tito Lhar said. "If you have the trust of the star, talagang malaking bagay 'yon."
