Derek Ramsay says he is semi-retired from showbiz, focusing on family

Derek Ramsay said he now considers himself semi-retired from showbiz as he focuses more on his family.

In Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, Derek said he had so many realizations during the pandemic after starting his "beautiful family."

"I'm really enjoying family. Ngayon talaga I'm really bonding with Elias, with my wife Ellen," he said.

Derek said, however, that he loves his craft and he is not completely closing his door on a return.

"Kapag meron akong nabasang script na bubuhayin ang dugo ko eh," he said with a shrug.

The actor said for now, he is leaving acting to his brother Andrew, who starred in the Cinemalaya entry "Ginhawa."

Earlier this year, Derek penned sweet birthday greetings for both Ellen and Elias, Ellen's son with John Lloyd Cruz.

He and Ellen tied the knot in November last year after a brief courtship.
