Alden Richards on playing Good Boy in 'Start-Up PH': 'Nakaka-enjoy din pala maging masungit kahit sa role lang'

“Start-Up PH,” is among the most-anticipated teleseryes of the year, with fans of the show are excited to see how their favorite K-Drama will be adapted in the Philippines.

Alden Richards portrays Tristan or Good Boy in the adaptation.

In the original version, Good Boy or Han Ji Pyeong (played by Kim Seon-ho), is a team leader with impressive investment skills, who is also very frank with his words.

Good Boy is genuinely kind to the people he cares about, but he can also be cold, which is not something associated with easygoing Alden.

“Di naman ako ganun eh, kilala [niyo] naman ako eh,” the Kapuso celebrity tells the press during Tuesday's virtual press conference.

“Yun yung medyo challenge sa akin kasi bago sa ‘kin yung emotion na yun sa characterization ko," he continued.

"Isa yun sa mga pinaka na-e-excite din ako na ginagampanan ko yung Good Boy kasi hindi ko siya nagagawa madalas sa teleserye ko eh, yung pagiging masungit. So ngayon, nabigyan ako ng opportunity. Nakaka-enjoy din pala maging masungit kahit sa role lang,” Alden smiled.

Despite that, Alden still sees a lot of similarities between him and his character, "like yung passion ko to get to my goal, and then yung hard work,” he said.

“Start-Up PH” has yet to announce a premiere date, but filming began in April.

“Start-Up” became a global hit when it came out in 2020. The story follows a group of young entrepreneurs with big dreams who are working towards successful careers. The series also discusses humble beginnings, hard work, romance, and heartbreak.

Directed by Jerry Sineneng and Dominic Zapata, joining the star-studded cast are Bea Alonzo, Jeric Gonzales, Yasmien Kurdi, Gina Alagar, Lovely Rivero, Gabby Eigenmann, Jackie Lou Blanco, Kevin Santos, and Jojo Alejar, among other actors. — LA, GMA News
