Rita Daniela says FAMAS nomination is a ‘dream come true’

Rita Daniela shared some photos on Instagram from the FAMAS Awards Nominees Night, and she couldn’t hide her happiness at being nominated.

“An answered prayer and a dream come true,” she wrote in her caption.

“Salamat po, FAMAS!” Rita added.

The Kapuso actress and singer is nominated for the Best Actress award for her role in the film “Huling Ulan sa Tag-Araw,” which premiered at the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Rita played Luisa, a bar entertainer and family breadwinner, opposite Ken Chan’s Luis, a seminarian who longs for a sign. After a chance meeting, they go to Luis’ house in the province where they start developing feelings for each other but are unsure whether their love would last.

The film’s theme song “Umulan Man o Umaraw,” written by Direk Louie Ignacio and performed by Rita, is nominated for Best Original Song. It previously won Best Original Theme Song at the MMFF.

On her Instagram post, the Kapuso actress thanked the film’s producers, production companies Heaven’s Best Entertainment and GMA Films, and Direk Louie for the trust.
