Sanya Lopez to attend the GMA Thanksgiving Gala solo

Like a true modern "Maria Clara," Sanya Lopez is confident to go solo at GMA Thanksgiving Gala on July 30.

At Sanya's "Hot Maria Clara" press conference, the Sparkle artist said she is happy to go to GMA's big night later this month on her own, with no man to hold. In fact, she has no problem with it!

“Pupunta po ako nang solo! Okay naman ['yun]," the 25-year-old actress told the press on Thursday.

"Doon na lang ako maghahanap ng date," the singer added with a laugh.

According to Sanya, Filipino fashion designer Michael Leyva will create her gown for the network's upcoming big night.

Sanya's first-ever single, "Hot Maria Clara," was released on July 15, where she portrays a confident woman who knows her worth.

We all know Maria Clara as a sweet, sheltered, soft-spoken Filipina. But in Sanya's "Hot Maria Clara," she described a modern Maria Clara as someone who is independent and not easily fooled.

As of writing, the "Hot Maria Clara" music video, directed and composed by director Njel de Mesa, has already garnered 77,000 streams on YouTube since its release last week. — LA, GMA News
