‘Apoy sa Langit’ star Lianne Valentin talks about her character Stella, ‘under the table’ scene’s 14M views

“Apoy sa Langit” cast member Lianne Valentin still can’t believe how big their drama and her character have become.

As reported by Lhar Santiago on “24 Oras” Tuesday, the “under the table” scene on episode 20 which featured her, Zoren Legaspi, and Maricel Laxa had received over 14 million views across GMA Network’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

“Pinag-uusapan namin doon sa set, sabi ko, ano bang meron doon sa eksena na iyon at talagang tumatak sa mga tao?” said Lianne, who played Stella, the mistress of Zoren’s character Cesar.

In any case, Lianne was glad that she was able to portray her character well, even if she got a lot of hate online.

“Grabe iyong inis nila, iyong galit nila kay Stella. Happy rin ako kasi nagagawa ko iyong role ko as Stella, ibig sabihin effective,” she said.

Talking about that scene, where her character hid under the table when Cesar’s wife Gemma (Maricar) entered his office, Lianne said she herself could not believe that she had done it. 

“Noong napanood ko iyong eksena, nagulat din ako sa sarili ko na nagawa ko pala iyon. Very, very Stella, hindi ko na naramdaman na ako si Lianne,” she said.

Director Laurice Guillen, meanwhile, praised Lianne for being hardworking.

“Wala siyang kaartehan. Pag sinabing jump, jump. Ang bilis ng pag-rise niya because she’s completely committed,” she said.

“Apoy sa Langit,” which also stars Mikee Quintos, Mariz Ricketts, Carlos Siguion-Reyna, and Dave Bornea, among other actors, has been extended due to its success.

It follows the story of a widowed jewelry designer and her only daughter who get a second chance at a complete family. However, life takes a surprising twist when a supposed estranged daughter turns out to be her new husband’s secret mistress.

“Apoy sa Langit” airs Mondays to Saturdays after “Eat Bulaga” on GMA Afternoon Prime. – RC, GMA News
