'Lolong' tops Philippine Twitter as pilot episode airs

"Lolong" is truly worth the wait!

The  much-awaited Kapuso action-adventure series topped the Philippine trends as it aired its pilot episode on Monday.

Fans raved about social relevance of the story, the cinematography, and the CGI effects for Dakila, the crocodile friend of Lolong.

They also expressed admiration for the kindness of young Lolong, who is played by Zyren Dela Cruz.

"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nanood ng #LolongPremiere. Sana po ay patuloy nating panuorin ang Lolong gabi-gabi," lead star Ruru Madrid said on Twitter after the episode.

Created by the GMA Public Affairs, "Lolong" is based on the idea of Jessica Soho and Lee Joseph Castel.

Aside from television airing at GMA-7, the episode was livestreamed on the social media platforms of GMA Public Affairs. 

"Lolong" also stars Shaira Diaz, Arra San Agustin, Paul Salas, Christopher De Leon, Jean Garcia, Rochelle Pangilinan, Malou De Guzman, Bembol Roco, and many more.
