Jean Garcia on her kontrabida comeback in Lolong: 'Guguluhin niya lahat ng buhay'
Veteran actress Jean Garcia is returning on primetime TV as a kontrabida for GMA's new action-adventure series "Lolong."
Jean will play the role of Dona Banzon, the mother of Martin Banzon (Paul Salas) and wife of Armando Banzon (Christopher De Leon).
"Si Dona ay isang character na matutuwa ka sometimes pero more on mabubuwisit ka," Jean said during the Lolong media conference on Monday.
("Donna is character whom you will find fun sometimes but more on annoying.")
"Itong si Dona, lahat ng high meron siya [She has all the highs]. High pitch, high strung, over the top, overacting, loud siya, maingay siya pero sosyal [she's loud but classy]," she added.
According to Jean, her character in Lolong is far different from her kontrabida roles in her past soaps.
"Guguluhin niya lahat ng buhay lalo na pag ginugulo ang buhay ng asawa niya at anak niya, ganoon si Dona," said Jean.
("She's going to ruin everyone's lives especially when her husband and her child is affected, that's how Dona is.")
Dubbed as this year's biggest primetime action-adventure series, Lolong is bannered by Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid. Joining Ruru as leading ladies are his co-Sparkle artists Shaira Diaz and Arra San Agustin. Also part of the cast are Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, and Rochelle Pangilinan, among others.
Lolong premieres in July 4 on GMA Telebabad.
