Tonton Gutierrez says ‘False Positive’ is a reminder for men to not take their partners for granted
Glaiza de Castro and Xian Lim’s “False Positive” is going to be an eye-opener for men out there.
The show revolves on newlyweds Yannie and Edward dela Guardia who will face an unusual twist in their relationship—the husband gets pregnant instead of the wife.
With this premise, cast member Tonton Gutierrez said the series was a good reminder for men to be appreciative of their partner’s efforts.
“Para sa mga kalalakihan: (do) not take your wife for granted or your girlfriend for granted lalo na ang mga asawa, misis. ’Pag nagbuntis, ’di gano’n kadali,” he told GMA News Online in a virtual interview.
“Akala ng mga lalaki medyo umaarte ’pag may sakit, may gusto, pero napakahirap ng pagbubuntis so let’s thank our wives for carrying our children. Let us not take them for granted,” he added.
Tonton and actress Glydel Mercado recently marked their 18th wedding anniversary.
In a previous interview, Glaiza said another thing to look forward to in the show was how it broke gender stereotypes.
“Walang hierarchy dito ng genders. Hindi porke’t lalaki ka, ikaw malakas, ikaw dapat ’yung sumusuporta sa pamilya mo at ’yung babae, nasa bahay lang,” Glaiza said.
“False Positive” also stars Nova Villa, Rochelle Pangilinan, Buboy Villar, and Alma Concepcion, among other actors. Directed by Irene Villamor, it premieres May 2. – RC, GMA News
