Julie Anne San Jose serenades her fans in #LimitlessLive
It's been two years since the pandemic happened and it's been two years too, since we've enjoyed concerts, movie theaters, and live events.
And so seeing Asia’s Limitless star Julie Anne San Jose on the stage and serenade her fans in GMA’s first live concert #LimitlessLive last Sunday, March 20 was truly special.
Tickets sold out in less than 24 hours after the concert's announcement, and following health and safety protocols, a total of 150 guests came to the Sunlife Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City. The cozy couches, aesthetic seats, warm lamps, and the acoustics of the venue gave the concert a dreamlike experience, making us feel not limited, but limitless!
The concert featured guests close to Julie’s heart including Rayver Cruz, and Musical Director Myke Solomon. Christian Bautista and The Clash season 3 grand champion Jessica Villarubin were also seen in the venue supporting the limitless star.
Asia’s limitless star on stage!
“It’s been a while, I haven’t done live concert in ages,” Julie Anne breathlessly told the crowd after finishing her second song that evening.
“Thank you so much for being here. You do not know how special is this for me. Finally, this is happening. Parang ang surreal lang rin kasi in the past two years, we’ve been experiencing hardships and it’s been quite a challenge for all of us in different ways.
This is a reminder that you are enough. Soon you will feel the joy of love again. Yung pagmamahal na walang hanggang, walang katapusan at buong buo,” she shared. Julie reminded everyone that you will always be enough, you deserve to be loved, and feel loved.
Julie’s love and passion for music
Between songs, Julie would share personal anecdotes, like when her dad helped her learn how to play instruments.
“Kapag tumutugtog ako ng guitar, dinadala ako sa ibang dimensions,” she said, adding how she believes that each instrument shows a song’s true colors and transport her to a different place.
When musical director Myke Solomon joined Julie on stage, he shared Julie’s story with the tongue drum, an instrument known for its soothing sound. According to Julie, it was Direk Myke who influenced her to buy her first tongue drum.
“During the limitless journey, marami siyang natutunan, mas lalong lumalim ang pagmamahal niya sa instrument,” Director Myke said.
#JulieVer’s intense chemistry on stage
Despite the leg injury, Rayver Cruz showed his support for the Limitless Star, singing a duet with Julie instead of performing the dance number they initially prepared, sending the crowd wild.
“Sa sobrang proud ko sayo, kahit naka-wheel chair ako, nandito ako,” Rayver said after their romantic duet. And as Julie did a costume change, the Kapuso actor serenaded the crowd with a ravishing solo performance.
Julie Anne San Jose on being limitless
Toward the end of the two-hour show, Julie imparted wise words to her fans, saying one can be immeasurable if only you had “limitless sources of learning.” She reminded her fans they too can be limitless, if only they never stop learning and continue to seek new things and improve.
In return, Julie told them their love and support make her limitless. "Yung pagmamahal, yung suporta po ninyo. ‘Yun po ang nagpapalakas as akin," she said.
"Umpisa pa lang ito. Marami pa tayong biyahe, marami pa tayong pagdadaanan, sana po lagi n’yo po akong samahan. Salamat po!”
She thanked her fans and everybody who helped her in her Limitless journey: GMA Family, GMA CEO Felipe L. Gozon, Entertainment Group Family, Sparkle Family, and Regional TV and Synergy family and Sir Oli Amoroso.
