Ken Chan reveals ‘Ang Dalawang Ikaw’ might be his last teleserye with Rita Daniela for a while

Ken Chan and Rita Daniela's chemistry is one for the books. They've made viewers kilig on and off-screen for a few years now and it seems it’s going to take a long while before fans can see them as RitKen again.

In an online interview with the press Tuesday, Ken revealed that the recently concluded show “Ang Dalawang Ikaw” might be their last GMA-7 teleserye together.

“Sinabihan na kami na baka ‘yon na yung maging huling teleserye namin sa isa’t-isa, huling project na pagsasamahan namin and aware naman kami talaga do’n bago pa namin gawin,” he said.

“Informed kami ahead of time ni Rita so prepared kami. Hindi kami nabigla o nagulat sa mga nangyari kasi alam na namin kung ano yung magiging takbo ng career namin,” he added.

According to Ken, it's a chance for them to grow on their own.

“I think it’s healthier para sa isang aktor na makasalamuha at makatrabaho pa ang iba, hindi lang stick sa isang love team para ‘di nalilimitahan yung mga ginagawa naming trabaho.”

Ken added that they are still very supportive of each other despite having to part ways for now.

“Happy ako na nakakagawa siya ng projects kahit na wala ako and gano’n din siya sa’kin. [Rita] is very happy and proud of me,” he said. “Full support si Rita.”

True to what Ken said, they have been exchanging sweet messages on social media from time to time. On his birthday last January, Rita said she loves him “through thick and thin.”

Ken is set to star alongside Kelvin Miranda and Bianca Umali in the upcoming GMA-7 primetime series “Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss,” where he will play Richard Lim, the “Geeky Boss.”

Though he admitted that having a new partner was “nakakapanibago,” Ken said he is thankful to Bianca and the rest of the team for helping him get into his character well.
