Eduardo Roy Jr., director, dies at 41


Award-winning director Eduardo “Edong” Roy Jr. has passed away. He was 41 years old.

According to a statement sent by his sister Myla to PEP.ph, Eduardo died at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City on Feb. 21.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eduardo ‘Edong’ Roy Jr.,” said her statement. “He has been diagnosed with lymphoma last year.”

A wake will be held Feb. 24 - 26 at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.

Eduardo Roy Jr. is known for films such as “Bahay Bata,” “Quick Change,” “Lola Igna,” “Pamilya Ordinaryo,” and “Fuccbois,” for which he won as Cinemalaya best director in 2019. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
