Jennylyn Mercado marks 18th year in showbiz, thanks fans from ‘Starstruck’ days: ‘My dreams came true because of you’

Jennylyn Mercado continues to be the Ultimate Star as she celebrates her 18th anniversary in showbiz.

To mark the milestone, the Kapuso actress shared a throwback photo of herself from when she was just starting out, accompanied by a message to her fans.

“[Eighteen] years na pala akong artista,” she wrote on Facebook.

“Muli akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng sumuporta sa akin simula ‘Starstruck’ hanggang ngayon,” she said.

“Lahat ng meron ako ngayon ay dahil sa inyo. All my dreams came true because of all of you. I’m deeply humbled. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”

As of writing, the post has received over 1,000 likes and hundreds of comments from fans congratulating the actress for the achievement.

Jennylyn won the title Ultimate Female Survivor title on the first season of “Starstruck” in 2003. Among the shows she’s done since are “Descendants of the Sun” and “My Love from the Star.”

She is set to star alongside Xian Lim on the upcoming GMA-7 series “Love, Die, Repeat.” They will continue filming after she gives birth to her child with Dennis Trillo. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
