Kris Aquino slams 'fake news' that she's in critical condition in the ICU: 'Sorry to disappoint'
Kris Aquino on Monday cried foul over the recent “fake news” suggesting that she is in critical condition in the ICU.
In an Instagram post, the celebrity host shared a photo from her room where she and her youngest, Bimby, virtually joined her family in praying for the soul of her cousin Maria, who passed away Friday, January 21.
According to Kris, she and Bimby could not attend physically as the two of them had yet to complete a 14-day quarantine, and their RT PCR results were not expected to come out until January 26.
Her eldest son, Josh, on the other hand, “had been cleared” on January 21 as he had moved to a separate condo unit.
Kris then denied “fake news” circulating about her health.
“It’s been disturbing that, since Friday, so many have been spreading fake news about me being either in St Luke’s, BGC, or the States but always with the same theme, that I’m in the ICU and in critical condition. NONE OF THAT IS TRUE,” she said.
She also remarked that the “trolls” peddling fake news seemed “very excited” to see her pass away after her brother, former President Benigno Aquino III, who died in June 2021 due to renal disease secondary to diabetes.
“Ayaw akong tigilan ng #fakenews and parang sobrang excited ‘yung mga trolls na within 1 year both Noy & me would pass away,” Kris wrote.
“Sorry to disappoint pero buhay at ilalaban pa na mapahaba ang oras ko because kuya josh & bimb still need me,” she added.
Nevertheless, Kris mentioned that her cousin Rina Teopaco would be the one to look after her sons “should anything happen" to her.
She also expressed her gratitude to her “real friends,” and assured the public that she was not saying “goodbye.”
“To all my REAL friends who have gone out of their way to reach out, send me food, fruits, flowers, balloons and just so much na nahihiya na ko- because they want to make make me feel their love & affection- you have my lifelong loyalty & gratitude,” she said.
“I have a lot more to say, perfect timing because birthday ng mom ko tomorrow January 25…my nurse has been signaling me, time for my meds, time for my shots (bad urticaria flare now) and lights out soon. Good night but definitely it’s not yet goodbye,” she added.
Last year, Kris revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and she shares health updates on her Instagram every once in a while. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
