Ysabel Ortega reveals she learned and shot her viral ‘Black Widow’-style move on ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ in 1 day
Ysabel Ortega has revealed that she learned and shot on the same day her viral “Black Widow”-style stunt training video for “Voltes V: Legacy.”
In a media interview on Friday, the actress playing Jamie Robinson said they rehearsed the stunts for a week, but she learned the move many fans likened to Marvel’s “Black Widow” in just one day.
“The Black Widow move,” she said, “that was all rehearsed the same day.”
Ysabel said she had an adrenaline rush when she saw her video because “first time ko to do that to someone.”
In July, Ysabel went viral after she gave her fans a teaser of her stunt training where she took down eight opponents in just 30 seconds.
Stepping out of her soft and sweet image, Ysabel impressed fans as she showcased her skills in mixed martial arts and took one enemy to the ground Black Widow-style.
However, Ysabel said her skills didn’t come naturally.
She said she spent “the whole year of 2020” training on martial arts such as kickboxing and muay Thai.
“The stunts in the video, it was done in a week,” she said.
“Nakatulong talaga ’yung foundation ng pagtra-train,” she added.
[The foundation I had with the training really helped.)
“I learned how to kick, I learned how to punch naturally, I learned how to deal with an opponent.”
Aside from Ysabel, the other actors featured in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation series are Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.
The adaptation was licensed by Japan’s Toei Company Ltd. through the Philippine-based Telesuccess Productions. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
