Pia Wurtzbach tests positive for COVID-19 in UK

Pia Wurtzbach has tested positive for COVID-19, during her stay in the United Kingdom.

The Miss Universe 2015 titleholder revealed the news in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday morning, sharing how she felt "all the symptoms."

"I caught COVID here in the UK even though I’ve been fully vaccinated & received my booster shot already. Kumpleto din ako ng flu and pneumonia vaccines. I eat healthy and I’m active, but I still got it (I also completed my flu and pneumonia vaccines. I eat healthy and I’m active, but I still got it)," she wrote.

According to Pia, she "got all the symptoms too: fever, sore throat, body pain, runny rose, cough, & I also lost my sense of smell & taste."

"It’s not like a regular cold or flu that goes away after a few days. I’ve never been sick for this long, which lasted more than a week," she added.

Fortunately, Pia shared that the "worst is through." She is one day away from completing her isolation, along with her sister Sarah, who also caught the virus. Thankfully, both of them have already tested negative.

Urging everyone to take the virus seriously and not put their guards down, Pia told her followers, "Guys, COVID is so real. My timeline shows that many have/had it too, both in the Philippines & abroad. And the numbers are going up exponentially."

"Being fully vaccinated doesn’t stop you from getting the virus but it helps you overcome it," Pia said.

"Please follow health & safety protocols. I think it’s the moment you put your guard down, doon ka mahahawa. You think you’re safe & usually 'yung makakahalubilo mo walang symptoms. Akala mo all is well. Pero, nahawa ka na pala at may possibility na maipasa mo sa iba nang di mo alam."

Many celebrities around the world, such as BTS members Suga, Jin, and RM, as well as Jimmy Fallon and Lupita Nyong' o, have been testing positive with the virus. — LA, GMA News
