Collegiate basketball player Abed Green to star in 'Magpakailanman' Christmas special

Student-athlete Abed Green will star in the special Christmas episode of "Magpakailanman."

Abed will play Jessy Hernandez, a Filipino-Australian who experienced racism and discrimination due to the color of his skin. He will appear alongside Liezel Lopez, Abdul Raman, Rita Avila, and William Lorenzo.

In Aubrey Carampel's report for "24 Oras," the basketball player for Enderun Colleges said this is his first ever drama in his showbiz career.

"Talagang pressure pero masaya naman po kasi tinutulungan po ako nila Miss Rita, nila Sir William tsaka ni Direk," Abed said.

On his Instagram account, Abed shared stills from the episode and thanked GMA Network and "Magpakailanman" for the opportunity.

"I learned a lot and it was a really great experience and I enjoyed working with the team especially Direk Neal who pushed my acting to the limit," he said.

The episode will air on December 25 at 8:15 p.m.
