Barbie Forteza reveals she was speechless when she got role on ‘Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune’

Barbie Forteza revealed she was speechless when she found out she landed a role on the highly anticipated drama “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune.”

During the drama’s media conference on Friday, the actress said in Filipino: “Actually, I was speechless when I found out because we all know how big Mano Po is, how much it has been part of the movie industry. To be part of this now that it is in the small screen, I am very proud and very honored to be part of this show.”

On “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune,” a television adaptation of the film franchise, Barbie will play a woman from a small family and a scholar of the Chan family’s foundation. She later works for the family’s business empire and becomes the secretary of Sunshine Cruz’s character.

“When I read the script, it was so well-written and the execution of the director allowed everyone to be the star equally. The story and script are distributed (well) … it’s really a family legacy,” said Barbie.

Aside from Barbie, other stars such as Boots Anson Roa, Sunshine Cruz, Maricel Laxa, Rob Gomez, and David Licauco will also be featured in the series.

The new series is set to premiere on GMA in January. – RC, GMA News
