How did Dingdong react to Marian being chosen as a Miss Universe judge?

Marian Rivera has confirmed that she's part of the selection committee in the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held in Israel this December 12, but there's one very special person in her life that she immediately broke the news to.

"Siyempre, una kong sinabihan si Dong," Marian said, referring to her husband, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.

"Kasi nung tinawagan nila ako, na kung okay ako na judge, sabi ko: 'Sandali lang tawagan ko 'yung asawa ko!'"

During the press reveal on Friday, Marian shared that Dingdong was "super supportive" and immediately encouraged her to take the opportunity.

"Sabi ng asawa ko: 'Wow, Nakakaproud naman you have to go there.' Ganun kaagad 'yung sinabi niya sa'kin."

A new Miss Universe will be crowned this December 12 in Israel, and Marian felt "honored" and grateful to be tapped by the Miss Universe Organization as one of the judges.

Marian was also "very excited" to get to know the candidates one by one, and is expected to fly to Israel soon.

"Minsan ka lang siguro mabigyan ng pagkakataong makabilang sa isang mahalagang okasyon kung saan doon magsasama sama [lahat], at syempre, bitbit mo 'yung bandila ng [Pilipinas]," she said.

"So, para sa akin, isang malaking karangalan siya, kaya naman buong-buong puso ko talaga tong tinanggap." — LA, GMA News
