As Gil Cuerva renews his contract with GMA Artist Center, he is inspired to do better in his work
Gil Cuerva has been a Kapuso for five years now, and as he renewed his contract with GMA Artist Center on Thursday, November 18, the actor and host said he was "really, really, really happy [and] grateful."
"I know I throw that word a lot but I really, really genuinely mean it when I say I'm grateful to be a Kapuso because it means that they believe in me, they trust in me and they see the best in me," Gil told GMA News Online in a Zoom interview after his renewal of contract.
Gil said GMA's belief "kind of inspires me to do better in my work and I feel like after five years of being in the industry I am slowly getting the footing, I am slowly getting the hang of things as I explore different avenues."
From starting as an actor on "My Love From the story," Gil crossed over to hosting on "Taste Buddies" with Solenn Heussaff.
"And our show has won an award," he added, referring to the PMPC Award for Best Lifestyle Show that "Taste Buddies" earned. Gil and Solenn also collected the award for Best Lifestyle Show Host.
The Kapuso hunk said one of the things he discovered about himself throughout his five-year journey in the industry is that he has an "extrovert side." According to Gil, he is an ambivert who learned how to be comfortable with a lot of people on set and interviewing people on "Taste Buddies."
Gil grew popular in 2017 after starring in the Philippine adaptation of the K-drama "My Love From the Star" alongside Jennylyn Mercado. — LA, GMA News
