Rabiya Mateo wants to prove herself in acting: 'It's not just the face anymore'
Rabiya Mateo slayed on the runway, but is she ready for the TV screen?
In an interview with GMA reporters on Thursday, the Miss Universe 2020 titleholder and new Kapuso said she believes that her pageant experience mentally prepared her for the showbiz industry.
But regarding honing her skills, Rabiya said she plans on enrolling in acting workshops.
"Gusto ko makilala nila ako, hindi na as Rabiya as a beauty queen," she said. "It's not just the face anymore. I want people to see my talent in acting."
Rabiya is set to make her series debut in “Agimat ng Agila” Book 2.
She revealed that she took boxing lessons to physically condition herself, and that she also took the time to mentally prepare herself for the role.
And one day, she hopes to be given the chance to do some hosting, and maybe even have her own talk show.
"I really want to interview people, this time ako naman ang magtatanong ng question sa kanila," she said.
Rabiya signed with GMA Network on Thursday, Nov. 18, a couple months after she took her final walk as Miss Universe Philippines and passed her crown to Cebu City candidate Beatrice Luigi Gomez. —JCB, GMA News
