Mang Tani returns to weather duty on Unang Hirit: 'Na-miss ko kayo'

Here's the latest, Kapuso: Mang Tani is back!

GMA's resident meteorologist Nathaniel Cruz just did his first weather report on GMA-7's "Unang Hirit" on Friday since returning from a short trip to Australia.

The UH Barkada gave their beloved weatherman a warm welcome just before he informed viewers about a Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“Nagbabalik dito sa Unang Hirit ang ating na-miss, [ang ating] GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel Cruz!" Arnold Clavio said in a short introduction.

"Good morning po, at good morning po sa lahat ng mga kasama ko dito sa Unang Hirit! Na-miss ko kayo," Mang Tani said.

In a flawless transition, he added: "Pero, syempre, itong na-miss natin, mga Kapuso, hindi dahil sa gusto natin, pero 'yun pong low pressure area na binabantayan natin, malapit na po sa Eastern Visayas."

Mang Tani trended on Twitter after "Kuya Kim" Atienza joined the GMA family last month.

Amid the buzz online, Mang Tani welcomed Kuya Kim to his new home via video message.

Kuya Kim, on the other hand, explained he would not be doing the weather because GMA already had the "best weatherman in the Philippines."
