Glaiza De Castro receives best film award for ‘Midnight in a Perfect World’ in Italy
Glaiza De Castro received the best film award for her movie “Midnight in a Perfect World” in Italy.
On Instagram, Tuesday, the Kapuso actress shared the experience with photos of her holding the axe-shaped trophy at the TOHorror Film Fest.
“Of course, the real reason why I’m in Italy was to represent ‘Midnight in a Perfect World,’ which was the only Filipino film in the selection and so proud and grateful that we won best film!” she wrote.
“Thank you so much TOHorror Film Fest for the fantastic experience,” she added. “Congratulations, everybody! [It’s ready and bubble-wrapped to be sent home].”
Written and directed by Dodo Dayao, “Midnight in a Perfect World” also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Anthony Flacon, Dino Pastrano, and Bing Pimentel.
The movie is set in a futuristic and seemingly perfect Metro Manila where blackouts happen nightly and people disappear mysteriously.
It follows the story of Mimi (Jasmine) and Jinka (Glaiza) who both think the weird events are a hoax, and later discover what lurks in the strange darkness.
"Midnight in a Perfect World" was the top-selling film of QCinema International Film Festival 2020. It is co-produced by Globe Studios and Epicmedia Productions. — LA, GMA News
