Faith da Silva opens up about challenges of balancing acting career and studies
Faith da Silva has opened up about the challenges she encountered in balancing her acting career and studies.
During her "Las Hermanas" press conference on Friday, the actress said she had finally graduated from senior high school under the Department of Education's Alternative Learning System, all while doing her acting projects.
"Napakahirap para sa 'kin pagsabayin 'yung pag-aaral at pag-aartista kasi noong nag-start ako sa 'Starstruck,' napatigil ako for a year and ang nangyari pabalik-balik ako sa school kasi gusto ko regular school," she said.
[It's was hard for me to study and be an actress at the same time because when I started in 'Starstruck' I had to stop for a year. I kept going back to school because I wanted to experience regular classes.]
Faith said she wanted to go through the whole classroom experience and have fun with her classmates.
To balance her work and studies, Faith said that even before the pandemic, she studied under DepEd's system where teachers would send her modules.
"Kahit before the pandemic, sine-send sa 'kin 'yung modules and sinasagutan ko siya. If mayroon akong free time, doon ako pumupunta sa school with my classmates and teacher," she said.
[Even before the pandemic, they would send me the modules and I would answer them. If I had free time, that's when I go to school and be with my classmates and teachers.]
Now that she's finally graduated, Faith said she hoped to take either a psychology or culinary arts course.
"I think itong pagtatapos ko ng senior high is a really really big achievement for me. Iba 'yung nakapagtapos. 'Yun 'yung bilin ng lola at lolo ko na kahit nagtatrabaho ako sana matapos ko pag-aaral ko," Faith added.
[I think finishing senior high school is a really, really big achievement for me. It's different when you're able to finish your studies. That's what my grandmother and grandfather told me, that even though I'm already working, I should finish my studies.]
Faith is set to play a main character on "Las Hermanas," which also features Yasmien Kurdi and Thea Tolentino.
"Las Hermanas" revolves around three sisters who encounter a life-altering event and are left to pick up the pieces. The upcoming afternoon drama series will premiere on Oct. 25. – RC, GMA News
