You're not alone. Even the show’s lead star Glaiza de Castro was genuinely shocked by the Kapuso drama icon’s performance.
Glaiza just posted a hilarious behind-the-scenes clip where she and her co-stars Mike Tan and Rayver Cruz are seen trying their best to stay in character.
"Yung nagulat din kami nila [sic] Mike Tan at Rayver Cruz sa nangyari sa eksena pero kailangang mag stay in character," the actress wrote tagging her co-stars.
"Sa totoo lang, isa ito sa mga pinaka masakit na eksenang ginawa namin. Sobrang awang awa kami kay Claire, pero kailangan matuto ni Cielo," she added, tagging the newbie Claire Castro.
"As always, sarap ka-eksena ni Direk Gina... Posting more BTS soon pampa good vibes kaya tumutok lang sa huling dalawang linggo ng #NagbabagangLuha.”
Apart from the particularly convincing backhand slap, there was also a lot of thrashing, screaming, and hair-pulling in the scene.
Gina's character Calida also shoves Cielo's face into a cake several times before leaving her on the floor.
Other actors couldn't help but praise Direk Gina’s acting prowess in the comments.
"Oh my!!! Ganda ng eksena @glaizaredux @rayvercruz Direk @ginalajar Sana masampal niyo rin po ako Direk," Ken Chan wrote.
"Oy! Ang sarap ng bwelo .. crunchy! ganda," said Rochelle Pangilinan.
The shocking backhand slap scene from "Nagbabagang Luha" had been viewed more than a million times on YouTube as of Tuesday.
