Kuya Kim will not replace Mang Tani in the weather segment of '24 Oras'
Shortly after news broke that a "Kuya" will become a Kapuso, Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz trended on social media.
Netizens guessed correctly that Kim Atienza will transfer to GMA Network, and because he is also known to report about weather, many couldn't help but ask: Now that he is in GMA-7, what will happen to Mang Tani?
In an online interview with the press, Kuya Kim said that he will not be replacing Mang Tani in the "IMReady" forecast of "24 Oras."
"I will not be doing weather because you have the best weatherman in the Philippines. You have Mang Tani," he said.
"24 Oras" anchors Vicky Morales, Mel Tiangco, and Mike Enriquez also previously gave a shoutout to the resident meteorologist, updating viewers that he is currently in Australia with his family.
Instead of the weather, Kuya Kim said his segment may "probably be an information or trivia" one. Nevertheless, he is excited and grateful to be a member of the news program.
Mang Tani himself welcomed him to the Kapuso network and assured him that he will have a great time.
Aside from "24 Oras," Kuya Kim will also be part of "Mars Pa More" and will be headlining a new show about facts and trivia titled "Dapat Alam Mo."
