JaMill returns to YouTube, slams ‘fake news’ after deleting channel

Camille Trinidad and Jayzam Manabat of JaMill have returned to YouTube.

The popular vlogger couple uploaded a new video on Wednesday, just a few weeks after controversially deleting their channel.

In the 22-minute clip filmed inside a car, Camille and Jayzam reiterated that they made the decision to give themselves time to "heal" as a couple.

JaMill added that they had second thoughts about deleting, because the channel represented everything they worked for in the past few years together.

Nevertheless, the couple said they eventually agreed it was the right decision.

"Nagsisi naman ako, guys, at nakakalungkot naman kasi talaga na, isang iglap is, 'Bakit ko ginawa? Nagpadala ako," Camille said.

[I regretted it, guys. And It was really sad that in a blink of an eye, I asked myself, why did I do this? Why did I allow myself?

"Galit ako 'nung gabing 'yun," Jayzam added. "Sabi ko, 'Bakit mo dinelete?' Hanggang sa nangibabaw sa isip ko na mas mahalaga sa 'kin si Camille kaysa dito sa channel na 'to."

[I was furious that evening. I asked, why did you delete it? I kept telling ymself Camille is more important than this channel.]

'Fake news'

JaMill also slammed the so-called "fake news" about their channel's deletion.

"Paggising namin, nag-trending na dinelete yung channel, ganito ganyan,” Camille said.

“May mga issue na lumabas na akala mo totoo pero fake news."

[We woke up to our decision to delete the channel trending on social media. There were so many things people were saying. And they all seemed true but really, they're just fake news.]

"Ganito kasi 'yan,” Jayzam began. “Nag-delete tayo nang walang paliwanag. So, yung mga tao, 'Bakit?' E, ‘yung mga media naman — it's time to shine."

Jayzam continued to blast news outlets, saying they only made “clickbait” for “chismosos and chismosas” to click on.

[We deleted without any explanation so people naturally wondered. Meanwhile, the media took the opportunity to create clickbait content.]

JaMill also called out the media on their joint Facebook page after uploading their new video on Wednesday.

“Ayan na nakauload na hahahahahahahah bakit kami nag-delete ng channel,” the post said in all caps.

“Lintek na media to binalita nyo nanaman kami hahahahahahahaha balato naman dyan hayup kayo,” it added.

[There, the video explaining why we deleted the channel is uploaded! Let's report on this, media! And then throw us a bone!]

Last month, JaMill announced they would be “deleting” their YouTube channel which had more than 12 million subscribers.

The couple said it was their “personal decision” after realizing they wanted a normal life.

However, netizens have aired speculations that it was related Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) memo which reminded social media influencers including vloggers to pay their taxes.

On Instagram Stories Tuesday, Camille posted a photo of Jayzam editing a video and said "bukas na abagan." — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
