Dennis Trillo is obviously 'winning' as he meets 'Parasite' director Bong Joon Ho at Venice Film Festival
John Arcilla may have won the best actor trophy at the Venice Film Festival for his work on "On The Job: The Missing 8" but his co-actor Dennis Trillo was clearly winning that evening, meeting a few of what we'd presume to be his heroes.
On Instagram, the Kapuso actor shared incredible snaps from the event, among which is a photo with "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho, whom he called" tito Bong."
In the caption, Dennis thanked the award-winning Korean director for signing his book and said an adoring "labyu."
In an earlier post — still in the cinema in fact — Dennis took a selfie with Joon Ho and Quark Henares.
"Mission Accomplished! Thank you tito Bong!" he wrote with multiple exclamation points as if to convey his excitement.
But that's not all. Another video post showed Dennis and Quark, erm, rubbing elbows with actors Cynthia Erivo and Sarah Gadon, "Tito Bong," and German director Alexander Nanau, who congratulated Dennis and said "we all loved your movie. You killed us."
Cynthia then piped in, "you were brilliant."
And then the cherry on top: "You were great!" Bong Joon Ho tells Dennis
In the caption, the Filipino actor expressed his disbelief. "Nananaginip ba ako?" he asked. "Hollywood levelingst!" He added.
Dennis, Quark, and "On the Job" director Erik Matti are among the Filipino contingent who flew to Italy to participate in the festival, which Dennis was more than happy to document.
His fanboy posts with Joon Ho were accompanied by more group photos, among which was one with "Nomadland" director Chloe Zhao.
In "On the Job: The Missing 8," Dennis Trillo plays Roman Rubio, a prisoner who later becomes a hired hitman for those in power. Different from his usual pogi getup, Dennis will have a crooked nose.
“On The Job” premieres as a six-part series on HBO GO today. The original 2013 movie is split into two parts, serving as the series' first two episodes, while the fresh four episodes, called "The Missing 8" will close it.
