‘On The Job’ to be shown in Rome, Milan, apart from Venice

Apart from premiering at the 78th Venice Film Festival, “On The Job: The Missing 8” will also be shown in the cities of Rome and Milan.

Director Erik Matti shared the news in an online press conference on Tuesday, saying he was honored to have his film chosen for the screening.

“Venice Film Festival is bringing just a few, not the entire official selection, and we were chosen to be shown in Rome and Milan,” he said.

He is currently in Venice to prepare for the premiere of “On The Job” on Sept. 10. While waiting, the director said he couldn’t help but feel nervous.

“Nag-try ako magbasa kahapon because there were several films that were already screened and halfway into reading, pinatay ko na kasi ang gaganda ng reviews. Natatakot na ’ko,” he said.

[I tried reading yesterday because there were several films that were already screened and halfway into reading, I turned it off because the reviews were good. I got scared.]

“[I’m getting nervous because] we’re up against really established filmmakers, films that have more global budgets and stars,” he added.

Meanwhile, the “On The Job” cast, which includes Dennis Trillo (Roman Rubio), John Arcilla (Sisoy Salas), and Lotlot de Leon (Weng), said they were grateful and proud to be part of the film.

Dennis will fly to Venice in the coming days to join John and Erik at the festival.

After its premiere, “On The Job” will be available for streaming on HBO GO as a six-episode series beginning Sept. 12.

The 2013 movie will be split into two parts to serve as the first two episodes, while fresh four episodes titled “The Missing 8” will close the series.
