Aiko Melendez injures forehead in home accident

Aiko Melendez recently sustained a deep gash on her forehead in a minor accident at home.

In her latest vlog, she revealed that she had to get stitches on her forehead after bumping her head on the sink.

According to the actress, she rushed to the bathroom while eating spicy noodles and suddenly felt like she had to throw up.

“Kagabi, while eating a spicy Korean ramen. Parang na-feel kong 'yung tiyan ko bumabaliktad na. Pinipilit ko pa rin siyang kainin. Finally, nasuka ako,” the actress narrated in her video.

"Nung nag-exert ako ng effort, nahilo ako, then tumama na 'yung ulo ko sa sink. Then nakahiga na ako sa sahig,” she added. "Malalim at malaki 'yung sugat...so kailangan siyang tahiin.”

Aiko said her son Andre and their driver helped take her to the hospital, but it took three attempts for them to find a hospital that would accommodate her despite the high number of COVID-19 patients.

"Sabi ng doctor, buti na lang hindi natamaan 'yung nerve mo sa mata… Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon na hindi po na-damage 'yung mata ko,” the actress said.

"Tumama talaga siya sa sink kaya pumutok siya. Sa mga nagkakalat na nakipag-away ako or anything, it's unfair, don't speculate or make up things dahil hindi makakabuti sa ating lahat 'yan,” she added.

Aiko also expressed her gratitude to those who showed concern and reminded everyone to keep safe, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga nag-me-message po sa akin,” she said.

“Na-appreciate ko po lahat ng message niyo, I wish I can reply to everyone but kailangan ko pa po magpahinga. Salamat sa inyo. Sana po lahat tayo magingat sa panahon na ito.” —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
