Jaclyn Jose, Dina Bonnevie share secrets on lasting showbiz careers
Veteran actresses Jaclyn Jose and Dina Bonnevie shared their secrets in how they've lasted in the showbiz industry.
During the media conference of "The World Between Us" on Saturday, both actresses shared their own formulas on lasting in their careers.
According to Jaclyn, it helped that her goal since she entered the industry was to strive for longevity.
"Ito talaga 'yung in-aim ko noong pumasok ako sa industriya," the Cannes-award-winning actress began. "Hindi stardom, the glitz and glam of an actor. Gusto ko mag-artista to portray characters and longevity."
[This was my aim when I entered the industry. Not stardom, not the glitz and the glam of an actor. I wanted to portray characters and longevity.]
She added, "Walang stardom. Gusto ko humaba career ko dahil gusto ko umarte. 'Yun 'yung main reason ko."
[Not stardom. I wanted my career to last long because I wanted to act. That's my main reason.]
Meanwhile, Dina pointed to professionalism and versatility as keys in how she stayed in showbiz for so long.
"I think first and foremost: professionalism. I don't think there was a time na may nagalit sa 'king director or co-actor lasi na-late ako. I try to memorize my lines even before dumating sa set," Dina said. "I make sure the costumes are there, makeup is okay na, plus pakikisama sa extended family natin, makeup artists."

She added, "Another thing I would say is the word 'metamorphosis.' In the beginning, katorse — bata role ko. Nag-strive ako magkaroon ng iba't-ibang klaseng roles. I tried to have versalitility na makita ng tao, 'Ay! Hindi lang 'yan kaya ni Dina Bonnevie."

The award-winning actress also shared that her love for the craft has made her career long.
"I was born for this. That's what I do best," she added.
