Michael V. addresses rumors on ‘Pepito Manaloto’ and his alleged network transfer

Michael V. has addressed the rumors surrounding the show “Pepito Manaloto” and his alleged transfer to a new network.

On Saturday, the “Pepito Manaloto” creator and star teased his latest vlog by posting a photo of himself with the words “Goodbye Pepito” and “Hello new network.” He also shared a photo of himself and his family members after getting vaccinated.

“Watch the latest vlog para malaman kung ano’ng konek ng 2nd pic,” he wrote on Instagram.

In his vlog, Michael V. revealed that the series was not ending soon and he was not transferring to a new network.

“Hindi po totoong mawawala na sa ere ang Pepito Manaloto at hindi rin ako lilipat ng ibang network,” he said.

He also showed videos of himself and his family members getting vaccinated, after which he described his daily symptoms until he felt fully recovered on the fourth day.

It was later revealed that the vaccination clips were related to his Pepito Manaloto story, because the series’ new book, “Ang Unang Kuwento,” was being shot during the pandemic and actors and staff were required to be fully vaccinated.

He also explained the series’ books and chapters, which were divided into three: Book 1, which revealed that the events were all just Pepito’s dream; Book 2 chapter 1, which portrayed the real lives of the characters and showed that the first book was part of a reality show, and chapter 2, which showed their standalone stories and was shot during the ongoing pandemic; and Book Zero, the origin story or “Ang Unang Kuwento.”

“Alam iyan ng mga totoong fans ng Pepito Manaloto na pinanood at inintindi yung mga episodes na napanood nila!” he said.

According to Michael V., because of the challenges brought about by the pandemic, it was no longer manageable to continue shooting the story, so they decided to close the chapter and start a new one.

“Dahil ayaw tayo lubayan ng COVID, we decided na isara na yung chapter 1 ng Book 2 para makapagbukas ng chapter 2,” he said.

This is also in line with their desire to keep the show interesting for viewers.

It is the same commitment that made him decide to step back and work on “Ang Unang Kuwento.”

“Humahanap lang kami ng diskarte kung papaano kami makakagawa ng mas magandang presentation ng show,” he said.

The ongoing “Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kuwento” series is set in the ’80s and features the young Pepito and Elsa, who are played by Sef Cadayona and Mikee Quintos, respectively. – RC, GMA News
