Ben&Ben reveals meaning behind collab song 'Sugat' with Munimuni
Ben&Ben released more details about their upcoming song "Sugat" in collaboration with Munimuni, and revealed the meaning behind what might be the greatest hugot song yet.
On Facebook, Tuesday, the band's percussionist Toni Muñoz shared, "'Sugat' is a song about healing from the wounds brought upon us by our past."
Writing the song together with vocalist Paolo Benjamin Guico, Toni said the song "urges the listener to ask themselves many questions, and also gives the ultimate assurance that though it is important to look back and learn from our past, we are never bound by it."
Ben&Ben announced on Monday they'll be premiering "Sugat" on Friday as part of their second album, which will drop on August 29.
The forthcoming album includes a dozen all-Filipino songs with six special collaborations.
Meanwhile, Munimuni, known for their hit songs "Sa 'yo" and "Sa Hindi Pag-alala," announced last September that they will be taking a break amid the pandemic. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
