Buknoy's talent agency slams 'fake news' about his alleged arrest

Buknoy Glamurrr's talent agency Star Image Artist Management on Friday slammed reports that said the vlogger had been arrested for mixing orange juice powder with Holy Water and called it "fake news."

Star Image Artist Management took to Facebook to clear their talent saying, "Yes, Buknoy committed mistakes in the past, but spreading fake news and mocking the Catholic Church is ungodly."

"Please be a responsible page owner," Star Image added, addressing the Facebook page that allegedly started the prank.

"To Philippine Star, your logo is being used/imitated to spread this immoral kind of post. Please act accordingly," the agency added.

Earlier on Friday, a post of Buknoy circulated on social media with the words "Buknoy Glamurrr arrested in Quezon City" written on it. It also had an image mimicking the logo of Philippine Star, reading "Philippine St4r."

The post claimed that Buknoy was allegedly arrested after he stirred orange juice powder in the holy water of St. Paul the Apostle Parish Church in Quezon City as a prank for his vlog. According to the post, Buknoy was allegedly put under the custody of the Quezon City Police District for violating enhanced community quarantine guidelines.

As of writing, the post containing fake information has already generated more than 78,000 reactions and 53,000 reshares on Facebook.

In Twitter, the use @justbuknoy posted a couple of photos of the vlogger and said, "stop spreading fake news. Unbothered as always." — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
