Kris Aquino to mark TV comeback as Willie Revillame's co-host on GMA this Sunday
Kris Aquino is finally going back to television as a host for the first time in years!
On Instagram, the Queen of All Media shared the good news, saying she is set to co-host a TV special for Shopee's shopping event alongside her “real friend” Willie Revillame on Sunday.
Kris admitted to feeling nervous about her return to TV.
“Honestly, I’m scared to go back to TV and all social media platforms this Sunday because I know I’m underweight,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino.
“Although I’m fully vaccinated, I do have an autoimmune (disease). I’m still grieving, and I haven’t appeared in a network TV for a long time,” she added.
But the host said she wants to live up to her supporters’ description of her as “strong.”
“Now is my chance to prove it and why should I be scared? KCA is beside WBR and this is for Shopee. And for all of my followers who are patiently waiting for this moment to arrive,” she said.
Kris offered her thanks and gratitude to Willie who made the partnership happen.
“Thank you to my friend Willie because from even before the first lockdown, even before Shopee was a part of our lives, he tried his best to convince GMA to give me a chance to co-host with him.”
Kris also thanked GMA Films president and programming consultant to the GMA chairman Annette Gozon Valdes and First Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan.
She also took the opportunity to look back on her brother former Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s days in the hospital before he passed away in June and thanked his caretakers.
“The whole team at Makati Med were just so caring and compassionate and they did everything to protect his privacy,” she said.
“I was so touched because I saw for all of them it was more than just professionalism. It was respect.”
According to the former actress, among her ways of showing appreciation to the hospital staff was to give them “special Kris ShopeePay vouchers."
For that, she also expressed gratitude to Shopee for keeping her brother’s condition a secret.
“Nothing went out. I was able to quietly thank those who cared for my older brother since December 2019 when he was in and out the hospital,” she wrote.
The Shopee “8.8. Mega Flash Sale TV Special” will air on GMA-7 at 10am on August 8, Sunday.
