Does Gina Pareño have plans to leave showbiz?

With her successful acting career spanning decades, some people have been wondering if Gina Pareño is considering retiring soon given her age.

However, in an episode of “Tunay na Buhay” with Pia Arcangel, the 71-year-old veteran actress said she had no plans to leave showbiz.

“Ayaw ko. Basta ako, go nang go. Gusto ko umarte nang umarte,” she said with a smile on her face.

[I don’t want to. As for me, I’ll just keep on going. I want to continue acting.]

In fact, Gina said she finished three projects last month and was looking forward to working on a total of six movies this year alone.

Having been in the spotlight for years, Gina said she had also encountered setbacks which only made her stronger.

She said she had faith that God would never abandon her.

The veteran actress shared her advice: “Love the job that the Lord gave you. Love yourself but don’t be arrogant. Let’s always be thankful. Be kind to other people,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

Apart from doing television shows and movies, Gina or Lola Gets is also a rising star on TikTok, where she has over 1.7 million followers and 9 million likes.

In January, she reacted to Disney’s casting call for a Filipino lola.
